Our artisan friends at In Vitro actually go to the market in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras and BUY fish scales from the vendors. They literally buy trash to make this product. Of course, they then bleach the scales and sanitize them and even have a sanitary certificate from the government in order to be able to export this amazing product. I don't know if you see the wonderfulness of this product. They are making something out of nothing, and they're not only benefitting themselves. On top of all the benefits to the local community and the employment they're creating right at home by making this product, they are actually providing a small additional source of income for fish vendors.
